Un testo scritto da chi vive nel Cas di Via Mattei (Bologna). Sabato 22 febbraio (ore 15 in Montagnola, lato piazza VIII agosto) saremo al loro fianco per supportare la loro protesta.

Siamo le persone che abitano nel CAS di via Mattei. Prima stavamo in altri centri gestiti da Lai Momo e non abbiamo capito perché ci hanno portato via da lì all’improvviso portandoci nel CASdi via Mattei senza spiegazioni. Perché ci hanno deportati lì dentro? Le cooperative, la prefettura e il governo hanno deciso al nostro posto dove e come dobbiamo vivere da quando siamo arrivati in Italia, e da novembre hanno deciso di buttarci qui. Ci sembra di essere stati gettati in prigione ed esclusi dalla società.
Per noi questo posto è una prigione ed una tortura mentale. Non ci sono cure mediche, il posto è sporco, 10 persone o più vivono in una stanza… A nessuno importa del nostro benessere. Non c’è la possibilità di cucinare in autonomia. Per entrare ed uscire dobbiamo usare il badge. Le condizioni igieniche fanno schifo e ci si ammala facilmente. Quando qualcuno si ammala, deve fare tutto da solo acquistando i farmaci. Ma come facciamo a comprare i farmaci se non possiamo lavorare? E come possiamo lavorare se non abbiamo i documenti? E chi ha il permesso di 6 mesi e sta lavorando ha dei contratti di 1 solo giorno. Immaginate se la persona non parla bene l’italiano, è tutto ancora più difficile. Ci sono operatori che affermano di lavorare per noi, però ci trattano come animali e sono proprio dei guardiani.
Questa non è vita, noi vogliamo libertà, documenti, e possibilità di decidere sulla nostra vita.

We are the people who live in the CAS (reception centre) of via Mattei. Previously, we were living in other centres managed by Lai Momo. We have no idea why we were suddenly kicked out from there and taken to the CAS without any explanation. Why did they deport us here? The cooperatives, the prefecture and the government have been deciding where and how we have to live since we have arrived in Italy, and since November they have decided to move us here. We feel as if we’ve been thrown into prison and excluded from society.
This place is a prison and a mental torture. There is no medical assistance, the place is dirty, 10 people or more live in one room…nobody cares about our well-being. We are not allowed to cook what we want. When entering and leaving the centre we have to use a badge (key card). The sanitary conditions are disgusting and we get sick easily. When we fall ill, we have to do everything ourselves and buy medication. But how can we buy medication if we can’t work? And how can we work if we have no documents? And those who have a 6-month permit and work, sign contracts of just one day! Imagine if the person doesn’t know italian very well, it’s even harder. Those who work in the centre say that they are working for us, but they treat us like animals and act like guards.
This isn’t life. We want freedom, documents and the possibility to decide our own lives.

Nous sommes les personnes qui habitent dans le centre d’hébergement (CAS) de via Mattei. Avant nous étions dans plusieurs centres gérés par Lai Momo, nous n’avons pas compris pourquoi nous avons été déplacés dans préavis, en nous plaçant dans le CAS de via Mattei sans explications. Pourquoi on a été déportés là-bas ? Les coopératives, la préfecture et le gouvernement ont décidé à notre place où et comment on doit vivre dès qu’on est arrivés en Italie, et depuis novembre ils ont décidé de nous jeter ici.
C’est comme si on a été mis en prison et exclus de la société.
Pour nous, cet endroit est une prison et une torture mentale. Il n’y a pas de suivi médical, l’endroit est sale, plus de 10 personnes dorment dans une seule chambre… Tout le monde s’en fout de notre bien être. Il est interdit de cuisiner de manière autonome. Pour rentrer et sortir nous devons utiliser un badge d’accès. Les conditions d’hygiène sont dégueulasses et on tombe souvent malades. Quand quelqu’un tombe malade, il doit se débrouiller tout seul et s’acheter les médicaments. Mais comment on peut nous acheter les médicaments si nous n’avons pas les papiers ? Et ceux qui ont le permesso di soggiorno 6 mesi et travaillent, ont des contrats d’une journée seulement. Si une personne ne parle pas italien, c’est encore plus difficile.
Des opérateurs disent qu’ils travaillent pour nous, mais ils nous traitent comme des animaux et sont des véritables gardiens.
Ça c’est pas une vraie vie. Nous voulons la liberté, des papiers, et la possibilité de décider sur notre propre vie.
